Oct 02, 2017 UT: Observations of NSV 13514 and NSV 14545

On the night of Oct 01/02, 2017, capstone student Victor Rau-Sirois, Jen Connelly, Grace Fiacco, and I spent the evening at the Observatory.

The main setup was:

• Meade 12-inch telescope
• no focal reducer, so working at f/10
• Atik 11000 CCD camera
• ATIK EFW2 filterwheel with V filter
• images taken binned 2x2
• autoguiding: fine aggressiveness X=0.3 worked pretty well in RA

Conditions were fair:

• lots of cirrus at start, cleared later
• chilly: T = 48 F / 9 C near end of run
• V-band focus was 0.770

Our main task was to observe two objects for Victor's capstone research project: the suspected variable stars NSV 13514 and NSV 14545.

We acquired roughly 1 hour of short exposures on each of these two targets.
