Make a Moon Journal
Your job is to monitor the location and appearance
of the Moon.
-
You must draw the naked-eye, visual appearance of the Moon
at least twice per week, during the period
June 29 - Aug 1.
With each drawing, you must provide the
date and time, as well as the location of the Moon in the sky.
At least one of these drawings must be done while the
Sun is above the horizon.
- On just one night (or day), draw a picture of the Moon
which is more detailed than usual. Your drawing must
be at least 3 inches in diameter. If you wish,
you may use binoculars, a telescope, or other optical
aid for this drawing; it's okay to use your
naked eye, too.
- Make a copy of your drawing from part (2).
Add labels to as many features as you can identify.
List the source you used to help you identify features.
What is the diameter of the smallest feature you can see?
Scan or photograph all your drawings and notes,
creating a single PDF file with all the material.
Submit the PDF file via the myCourses "Assignments" facility.
