      How many elephants does it take to equal the mass of a single
          teaspoon of degenerate matter?



             1 teaspoon  =  5 x 10^(-6) m^3  *   2.3 x 10^(9)  kg/m^3

                         =   11,500 kg

                         =   11.5 tonnes

                                             1 elephant
                         =   11.5 tonnes  * ------------
                                             5 tonnes


                         =  about 2  elephants


      It's not easy to squish that many elephants into a single
