The forces on a block at rest

If a block sits at rest on the tilted track, then the 4 forces acting on it must add up to zero in all directions.

Draw a set of coordinate axes which are tilted to match the track.

List all components of each force.

Write down equations for total forces in X-direction, and total forces in Y-direction. Both should add up to zero.

Note that if the block doesn't move, then the hanging mass doesn't move, either. You should be able to figure out the tension in the string very easily .....
