A ball of mass m moving a speed v1 slides into a motionless box of mass M.

  1. How fast do the two boxes move afterwards?
  2. The collision takes t = 1.5 seconds. What was the average force exerted on the box by the ball?
  3. What was the average force exerted on the ball by the box?
  4. If they do, what is their acceleration?
  5. Together, the ball and box slide across a sandy floor. They slow down and come to a halt after sliding a distance L. What is the coefficient of kinetic friction between box and floor?
