     What is the diffraction limit for the VLA?

                                        0.06 m
           theta  =  (70 degrees)  *  ---------------  
                                        35,000 m

                  =  1.2 x 10^(-4) degrees


     Not as sharp as HST, but much better than a single
     big radio dish.
