The ESA is running a special contest: Hubble's Hidden Treasures . You can learn about it here:
The basic idea is that people can browse through the archive of all pictures taken with HST and look for "hidden treasures" -- beautiful images which no one else has yet noticed. A set of simple tools are provided for examining and modifying the images.
In order to gain extra credit, you must submit your work to me, and present your work in class. Be prepared to explain to your fellow students what you did. A 5-minute presentation would be about right.
