Create a multiwavelength image

This project must be done by individuals.

Can you combine data gathered by telescopes in different parts of the electromagnetic spectrum to create a multiwavelength image?

The Aladin tool from SIMBAD allows you to examine any region of the sky using data collected by a number of different telescopes. It includes a feature called RGB image builder which will automatically align, scale, and combine 3 different images to create a false-color image.

Your job:

pick an interesting object
grab images of the object at three different wavelengths
combine those images into a color image
upload the image to the mycourses Dropbox for this course
write a paragraph describing your picture -- which wavelengths, which telescopes did you use? -- and explaining what you can learn from each wavelength
