In my mailbox this morning, I found this message from the OGLE team:
Date: Fri, 31 Mar 2000 16:08:46 +0200 From: OGLE accountSubject: [vsnet-alert 4519] High Magnification Event OGLE-2000-BUL-12 To: ogle-alert@sirius.astrouw.edu.pl HIGH MAGNIFICATION MICROLENSING EVENT Observations collected by OGLE during the last few nights at the Las Campanas Observatory indicate that OGLE-2000-BUL-12 microlensing event will be a very high magnification event. On Mar. 31.35, 2000 (UT) the magnification was A=21 and it was fast rising. The maximum of light is predicted on Apr. 1.71, 2000 (UT). Unfortunately, OGLE will not be able to follow this event after Apr. 1.4, 2000 due to Chilean telescope time. Follow up observations are strongly encouraged !!!
