The job of your group is to investigate the spectra emitted by four sources: flourescent lights, an incandescent light bulb, a sample of excited gas, and the Sun.
Obligatory Warning: Don't look at the Sun directly. Don't do it with your naked eye. Don't do it with the spectrographs. Any spot within 10 degrees of the Sun is fine.
Draw a picture of each spectrum in the boxes below. In the area to the right of each spectrum, classify it using the terms shown in the "two-page color spread on spectroscopy" (ask me for the page number).
