Physics 312 Lecture: "Rolling without slipping"
Mar 16, 1998
- Objects which roll without slipping have a fixed relation
between their linear and angular velocities
 - The kinetic energy of a rolling object is the sum of its
translational kinetic energy and its rotational
        kinetic energy
 - One can use conservation of energy to determine parameters
        of objects rolling down planes
 - An object with mass concentrated far from its center
rolls more slowly than one in which the mass is
        close to the center

This lecture discusses material in Chapter 11 of Serway.
