Video analysis of two carts colliding
Use your computers to analyze videos in which two carts collide
on a track.
You might want to read the
 instructions for marking
           properties on videos in LabPro.
- Go to the folder:

Student Shares -> University Physics Students -> Team Physics 311
              -> LabPro -> P105COMVideo

 - Double-click on the P1051dCOMEqualMass file. It shows a collision
between two carts of equal mass.

  - What is the momentum of each cart before the collision?

 - What is the total momentum before the collision?

 - What is the momentum of each cart after the collision?

 - What is the total momentum after the collision?

 - Is the total momentum conserved? If not, there must
be some external forces acting on the carts.
What are the most likely suspects?

 - Double-click on the P1051DCOMUnequalMass file.
        It shows a collision
between a massive cart and a lighter one.
