Can you find the Earth's Twin?

Due written/printed on paper, handed in before 5 PM on Monday, Dec 10.

This project must be done by individuals.

The goal of this project is to find a planet which is as similar to the Earth as possible; a planet where you might be able to settle down and live comfortably.

How to find it? Go to the NASA Exoplanet Archive

The archive contains a database of all the confirmed planets which have been found so far. You must search through all these worlds and look for the one which matches our own Earth most closely. As you look, consider factors such as

There may be other factors, too.

Once you have found your "nearest twin," explain why you chose it: what were your criteria? How close does it come to the Earth?

If you can't find one planet which matches the Earth in all respects, provide a list of your top 3 choices. Explain how each of those planets is like Earth, and how each one is unlike Earth.
